Where are we?

Beer is a village in East Devon, just across the border from Dorset. Towns nearby include Honiton, Axminster, Ottery St Mary, Seaton and Colyton, with other villages nearby including Branscombe, Southleigh, Colyford and Axmouth. Beer is on the edge of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Being surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK, as well as being an active, working fishing village that itself has been voted "Best in Britain", makes Beer a lovely place to live.

This also means that there is a higher-than-usual percentage of residents who are retired or approaching retirement. Though there is a considerable focus locally on looking after visitors to the area, it's important for an area like ours to pay attention as well to the people who live here all year round.

As a new organisation created in March 2019, Beer Men's Shed is now working actively towards having a physical shed of its own. We are currently in discussion with St Michael's Church in Beer about potentially having our shed in the churchyard located in Fore Street, right in the middle of Beer village (postcode EX12 3JF).
